Saved calibration profiles versus preview

Calibration work can exist in two different states:

  • a temporary workspace preview
  • a saved calibration profile

That distinction matters because they do not behave the same way.

Preview means temporary

A preview lets you explore calibration changes before committing them.

Use preview when you want to:

  • test an adjustment
  • compare planner behavior before and after a change
  • inspect whether a calibration direction looks promising

Preview is temporary working state.

A saved profile means reusable

A saved calibration profile gives you a reusable calibration that you can keep and apply later.

Use a saved profile when you want:

  • a stable named calibration
  • reusable settings for future planning
  • a profile you can assign to a trip or keep as a default

The simplest way to remember it

Preview is for testing.

Saved profile is for reuse.

If you want the route to actually use the calibration

After saving a profile, read Apply calibration to a route for the assignment step.
